So sorry I didn't post last week! I've been working on photography stuff for our church and also started playing piano in the praise team. I've enjoyed it!

Anyway here are my colors. Orchid was hard so I used what was closest to the color. My red orange is slightly there. I took a picture of this house while we were in Wilmington celebrating my birthday. I LOVE Fall, and especially all of the colors that come with it! Well sorry this is short but I'm on the way to help pick up a few things for my daddy. Thank you for always Being faithful followers. It means a LOT to us :)

Well I just so happen to find this week's color at my little nephew's birthday party! My mom and sister did such a cute job decorating with a dump truck/construction theme! All the little traffic cones were a perfect match for the color, especially the one with "tractor tires" surrounding it!! Oh and I just had to share the cake since it was soooo cute! Bulldozers digging, dump trucks dumping chocolate candy rocks, so cute and yummy!

This is a very long project to stick with and I really appreciate ALL of you who play along! As you can tell many of the ladies here at p64 have found life taking over and our sharing has been very erratic, but I love this project and I am determined to keep this project going! Besides we are very close to reaching the end of our rainbow! We have like 8 more weeks left, which is perfect timing for me since I'll being entering my third trimester of pregnancy! Yesterday my piano teacher treated me to a pedicure just for fun. After that she and I went shopping and to Starbucks. I'm not a big coffee drinker like my sister but a white chocolate raspberry mocha is soo good! She also surprised me with a Polaroid camera for a late Christmas present. I was so happy! It works but I have to find film for it. Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

I didn't take a new picture for this week...but I did just have these photos printed, so that counts, right?!? We celebrated my youngest son's birthday while were at Disney World in December. It was awesome! When it's your birthday, everyone acknowledges you and says Happy Birthday. We had a great time seeing the look on his face like, 'how do they know?'

We purchased his hat as soon as we got to Magic Kingdom. When we came out of the hat store from having it embroidered, a parade began. This was our first day at Disney and we were all excited. But the best part was Cole thought the parade was just for him. He was in awe and I was crying like a baby! What special memories we will have from this trip!

Well I let me tell you I am so tired! This little one growing inside me sure has made me so tired, so naturally I waited until last minute to capture my color this week, lucky for me the idea that popped into my head when I drew this color out of the box ended up going according to plan! The color this week was yellow and I instantly thought of the rubber ducky that I knew was hiding in the bucket of bath toys.

Hello!
When we moved out here i learned something interesting about pine cones. Did you know that when it gets cold they close up? Then when it gets warm again they open. I decided to take a picture of them to show you what happens. The pine cones are also huge! I've found some bigger than my hand! God's creation amazes me!

I didn't have to look too far for my color this week. My youngest son, Cole, just turned five and was my model for a mini Valentine's photo shoot. I know I am totally biased, but he is the sweetest.

Well, this week I pulled a photo I took a few weeks before Christmas while doing a quick mini session with my boys for our Christmas cards. Our card theme was Jingle Bell Rock and since I've been so darn tired and busy with doctors appointments courtesy of the little bundle of joy growing inside me (didn't I tell you all we were expecting our third child)? Anyway, I thought it would be OK to search for my color find in my past photos. The neck of the guitar I thought made for a pretty close match to brown, what do you think?

When I saw the color this week is blue green i had a difficult time deciding what to shoot. I live in a beach house that is COVERED in blue green. I decided to use our lamp. Still life is usually tricky for me, but I think it turned out nice :)

Hello!

I just got back from spending the day shopping with my friends, Katie and Courtney. It's the first time all three of us have been together since July!

Sunday I went to the beach with my family and snapped some pictures of the beautiful sunset. I LOVE sunsets so I was like a little kid with candy, just snapping away! God's creation amazes me.

Wild Strawberry {Kendall}

Hello friends! I wasn't sure where I was going to find Wild Strawberry, but as I was going through some photos from the day after Christmas, I found it!

I was fortunate enough to be part of a homeless outreach project orchestrated by a sweet friend. It was my first time to help and I had no idea what to expect. I just walked around in amazement of all the volunteers who were there to help...especially this girl in the picture. I do not know her, but you could see she had such a heart for others. She was helping the children who were there pick out some clothing for them and their families. Here she sat and helped this little girl, who I would guess was about 3, put on new socks. I was touched by how at ease she was helping others that she did not know.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday with your families. I know I did. I am now ready to see what the new year has in store!

Well, this color was a little hard to find since out side is all brow and gray and being in a house full of boys it is quite rare to find anything in this shade of pink/red. However, I just happen to buy a jar full of old wooden spools of thread at the antique store the other day and one spool had a pretty close match to this week's color!

I have had a thing for silver trees most of my life. I found this beauty when I was 15 at a local flea market. This tree is from the '50s, it's a little feeble and you may find tape holding most of it together. I wouldn't trade that tree for anything and I hope it graces many more Christmas'!

My mom (Sheryl) and dad are headed to the USA from Turkey! I can't wait to see them!

I was really excited to post silver. I have had this picture for over a year. Last year for Christmas, Terry and I went to Munich. In Munich is the BMW plant and museum. I really can't express how fantastic the experience was seeing that museum. From motorcycles to cars, jet engines and space pursuits, it's all there! The design of the museum it's self was worth the visit.

I know, it seems like I am in a motorcycle rut, but I thought this was the prettiest one I have ever seen! The picture does it no justice. The pearl paint is actually undercoated with silver.

I did actually have a couple of more pictures I was really excited about, but I guess I have lost them. I changed computers during this year and I guess they didn't get transferred. The concept cars were amazing. If you ever go to Munich, don't miss this exhibit.

Color Reveal Week 49

When this week's color first came out of the box I was excited as I was right in the middle of wrapping Christmas presents and just knew that one of my beautifully wrapped gifts would do just the job...however, as most things go, it just didn't turn out quite the way I wanted it to. While playing around with all the ribbons and trimmings in my arsenal of gift wrapping supplies a string of silver beads caught my eye and it seemed my camera loved them too. I kind of like though that my initial idea didn't work out, because at first I started out snapping my pictures in a robotic way just trying to hurry up and finish my task, but once I was inspired by those shinny beads I started to have fun again with my camera, something I feel I've been missing the past few months since I've been swamped with portraits! Well I hope you have fun with Silver because I sure did!

Look there are a ton of little MEs in all those tiny shiny orbs!

What are the holidays without some shiny bokeh! Plus I love making bokeh that doesn't come from lights but shiny things instead, heck I just love bokeh, its so pretty and dreamy!

I guess I could of played around for hours and posted a lot more, but I dare not bore you with a ton of pictures of shiny silver beads! Happy color hunting everyone!

This morning I am enjoying the fire, taking down a few left over fall decorations and desperately looking for this weeks color. I think I got it somewhere in the leaves! This color was a little hard for me.

Also, my husband and I found out that we are expecting our first child!! What a perfect Christmas present!!

Really, so far this has been the hardest color for me! It just isn't in my life! When I created the color chip (as I always do), I didn't expect the color that came up. This isn't what I thought of as mahogany. So, I shot the closest thing that I could find.

This is a carpet that I bought last year. It is one of two that are complete opposites. Here in Turkey, rug making is a family business. I was told that these rugs were made by a 12-15 year old child. I was shocked and really put off by the idea, until my friend told me about the family mentoring their children. It's more like an "apprenticeship". Knowing that these rugs where part of a young persons education in learning a trade, made me want one.

The style is called Kilim and I actually really like them the best. So far I have bought four of varying quality and will treasure them as remembrances from our time in Turkey.

It's no secret that I find the majority of my color finds at home in the things that surround me and being a stay at home mom of two boys those things are often toys toys toys! That is exactly where I found my color today, in a Lincoln log house my boys built and their favorite truck Mater! Now they aren't exact but I thought it close! Once again these are with my iPhone, it seems to be the only camera close at hand these days!

Better late than never right?!? Since you are all sharing your black photos, I decided I better share one too. If black were next week, I would probably be posting a picture of Mickey Mouse! We are leaving Thursday to go to Florida! It's is a whole 40 degrees warmer in Florida than it is here in Oklahoma. That alone is exciting.

Cleaning the garage is a horrible job but this little guy made it all worth it. I was trying to get this suitcase cleaned out an ready for storage and he was determined to be in it! It kept him entertained for a long time.

What can I say . . . everything looks good on/in black! Most of the clothes in my closet are black. Most of my shoes too! I was so excited about black and couldn't wait for it to get here. However, I wanted to find something special for this post. Not your ordinary, run of the mill, everyday black . . .

A few weeks ago was the Kurban Bayram here in Turkey. Terry and I stayed in Istanbul and did the "tourist" thing. While walking around SultanAhmet we happened upon this grand machine.

If there was an edge. . . it had leather fringe! I was wondering if, at high speed, the tassels on the handlebars whip the driver? I am sure this baby gets taken out on the open road, regularly. . . if the highway isn't a parking lot.

Of course, this ensemble wouldn't be complete without skull flag and 'coon tail! (Notice the "evil eye" charm!) I was working fast, trying to get these pictures before the owner caught me -- but Terry said "Slow down, I am sure whoever owns this fascinating piece of equipment, would be very flattered!" I am sure he is right. . .

Hello everyone! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I am very pleased to announce that in writing this post on my new ipad!! I saved up some shoot money and also got some extra money in for my birthday so this is what I bought :) I am so excited about using it!
The images you see are two of my favorites. Pardon the first pictures quality. It was taken on the iPad. One of the girls I babysit on Wednesday's is now taking Karate lessons. She really wanted me to take her picture and what do you know! Her uniform was the right color! I think she looks adorable.
The next is a self portrait of my friend Courtney and I. I used my canon rebel XS for that one.The picture was taken while we were on a boat headed to Wilmington for my 20th Birthday. Courtney is an old soul but very bubbly! I call her Squirrely because she is so full of life and always running around helping others. She and our friend, Katie, have helped get me through two very hard years! Im so glad i have them!
Before I go I'd like to know, what you're thankful for this year? I have three things:

Well fellow p64ers, this has been quite an interesting week and a half for me and my family...first we were hit with a bought of the stomach bug, then of course holiday traveling for thanksgiving and most recently we have had a tragic family loss, which explains why I'm late in getting this already late post up. We've been so busy hosting family from out of state that came in to be with the all the family during this time. I have been collecting orange for awhile. Every time I would see it I would take a picture in anticipation of this week. I actually went through a spell where I was thinking it was the greatest color out there! I know, go figure!

A couple of months ago a friend and I went to the Island of Patmos, Greece. I took this picture on the ferry boat that left from the Island of Samos. Three plus hours later, we arrived at Patmos. Needless to say, three hours on this type of bench -- I was ready to be sitting somewhere else. It was a great place and I will gladly do it again sometime.

These are some of the fresh peaches at a local Pazaar. I really couldn't believe that they were so perfect, they looked fake.

Wedding Bliss { Natalie }

Before I reveal my color pictures I wanted to share a picture from the wedding I shot on 11-11-11. This is my friend Stephanie, and her husband, Clay. I met her when we moved and really enjoyed helping her prepare for one of the biggest moments of her life. This is by far my favorite picture I took of them! I just love the big smiles on their faces!

Remember my post about the dolphins? This is the wedding they visited. I had a hard time looking for orange so I decided to use these. There's just something about a wedding that gets me feeling all warm and fuzzy. Being able to capture that special moment in a couple's life makes it even more rewarding. I LOVED the bride's dress and flowers. So perfect for a beach wedding!

The cake was delicious! Red velvet flavored with butter cream icing. Am I making your mouths water? I'm craving some now!

My photo is of my brand new shoes! They are wonderful in every way...
1. They are silver and purple.
2. They were on sale for half price.
3. They are kids size (this was the fourth happiest day of my life because I found out I could wear kids' shoes!)
4. I bought them for our trip to Disney World next month!!!!

Another week, another color! How are all of you hanging in there? I know we've dwindled down since we first started, but we so do appreciate all of you that play along! Well, this week I found my color hiding in the bottom of the Halloween candy box, apparently we do not like purple/grape colored candy as it's slim pickins in the trick or treat bag and purple was the dominate color! This week I have been with Terry in a place called "Tekirdag" (English spelling). So, I thought I should get my picture here this week. Well, I haven't found anything except a marigold that even remotely comes close to the color. I did explore my files and I found these sunflowers that I took HERE during the summer. Until that trip, I didn't know that Turkey was such a big supplier of the sunflowers seeds we eat and the sunflower oil we use. Fields that look like this were everywhere. A month later when we came to this area, these beautiful blooms were all brown and drooping. They looked so sad and unhappy. Then I realized, "Of course, they have to go to seed . . ." (Yes, that was really what I thought!) The harvesting is done mostly like corn in the United States. Large trailers are filled with the spent heads and taken off to the market.

Good Morning!
Wednesdays are full of watching my piano teacher's children and doing things around the house while she teaches. I've been doing it for almost two years and enjoy every moment of it. There's just nothing like walking in the door and her two year old saying " Hi Nadadee!" It makes my heart melt.
The little guy asked for a piece of candy and this is what he chose. Funny thing was that I ended up being the one to eat it! After looking at it, I realized it was the perfect color!

Here's a little self portrait I took in the rearview mirror while mom, Ally, and I were out running errands. I purchased this lens last week and it has been on my camera ever since. I absolutely love it!

This week has been wacky...so I too am posting from my phone. Halloween being on a Monday night with festivities all the weekend before got me off track.

The bottom picture is of my little Buzz Lightyear. It has a tiny bit of dandelion and a lot of cute!

The top picture is of the fabulous Dolly Parton. My husband and I went to see her last month. It was a great show...even if we were some of the youngest there.

Turquoise

Here in Istanbul the color turquoise is not hard to find. It is a favored color in ancient times as well as now. A couple of weeks ago, I was on a photo trek with the IWI Photo club to the Istanbul Archaeological Museum. I had been there before but never to take pictures.

One thing I would have remembered, had it been there perviously, was a mummified body in a glass case. It no longer wore the rags it would have been wrapped in -- all I can say is "It was very appropriate for this time of year." There was no turquoise on it but I did try to take a picture.

Anyway, one of the buildings that is included in the museum is actually an old building. Cinili Kosk, built by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror in 1472 and was used to display his arms, costumes, edicts, paintings, books etc. It is touted for the outstanding Seljukian, Anatolian and Ottoman style tile work. "The harmony of the Turquoise, white, purple and dark blue tiles in mosaic technique were considered highly prized decoration."

This is a large Niche that was in the room that would be called a "salon" here. I am sure it was used to showcase a something very important. I do believe that this was the only Niche of this type in the building.

This is a close-up of the tile work on the above Niche.

This is some of the tile work around the windows in the outer rooms. I thought it was very pretty. The tiles that look black are actually dark blue.

This piece of framed tile work was the only example of it's type in the building. I couldn't read what it said about it but I did think it was very interesting. It truly is beyond me how anyone can read that writing.

Good morning!
Saturday I helped my friend Kelly shoot a wedding in Myrtle Beach. As we walked on the beach to snap a few pictures of the happy couple I saw something jump out of the water. I studied the ocean for several minutes then saw six shark-like figures. There were people swimming in the ocean so my first instinct was to tell everyone to get out. I then took another look and noticed they were dolphins!! I was so excited! I took several pictures, but this was the only one that really turned out good enough to tell what they were. This was a mom and her little calf. I was so thankful God brought those dolphins near us so we could enjoy one of his amazing creations! Enjoy your weekend!

Well I knew where to go this week....my daughters Jewelry hanger that she made out of bamboo utensil holders!!! And sure enough this is what I found!

I also find it funny that the crayon turquoise looks nothing like a real piece of turquoise jewelry which she also had. It is a ring given to her by her late grandfather.

I have been very busy these last few weeks and this is a pic from a product photo shoot I did for a T-shirt company I am doing marketing for....

I thought it matched the crayon pretty well.

One last thing...I was so busy last week I didn't get to post my gold. I have looked at this old mirror that was my grandmothers, who passed away about 16 years ago and have wanted to photograph it and also use it on here. I only used the corner of it on here because I don't know how to photograph a mirror without getting in the pic.....Can anyone suggest how I could get a good photo of the mirror without a reflection in the mirror??????

(Maybe impossible, but if there is a way I am sure someone on here will know!)

I absolutely love the ornate detail in the frame!

Color Reveal Week 43

How is everyone this week? Is it starting to look like fall where you are? It is here! I LOVE fall and I've been so busy with portraits that its just been passing me by so last weekend I decided to put a halt on things and take some time out for my family, which is why I missed my color reveal last Monday, luckily Kendall was so kind to take it over for me! Even though I missed sharing my gold finds last week I thought I'd share them real quick this week before I revealed this week's new color!

I just happened to find gold hiding in my two favorite antiques, a stack of Jane Austen books published in the 50's and a fold out antique camera that my husband's grandparents gave to me for my birthday!

Thank you for letting me share my gold finds a week late! Now I bet you want to know what our new color is!? It just happens to be the vibrant shade of blue that goes by the name of turquoise!

I found my turquoise while watching my little nephew this morning, not only was he wearing an outfit I picked out for him but his binky just happened to be my color!

Although my little nephew sported my color I had originally intended to share a photo of my blue rotary phone I picked up at the flea market, the boys love playing with it and I just love the little pop of blue it gives my living room!

This was the very first gift my husband gave me on Christmas 2003.
Moving and unpacking into our house has really taken me on a trip down memory lane. When we moved to Turkey we packed everything up and put it in storage. So most things I haven't seen in over a year and half.

This is the dinning room at the home of the American Consult General here in Istanbul. I took these photos in natural light. Metering the light, I set my camera on manuel. I didn't have a tripod or shutter release but I did find that the radiator covers where a perfect place to rest my camera. Setting the shutter timer, I took these pictures in this low light setting.

The room was gold, however, I am not sure of the match to the color chip.

A Gold Cross From Iraq { Natalie }

The effects the attacks of September 11th had on people across the country were widespread. The impact it had on my family was that it took my uncle away from his wife and newborn. That following Christmas he sent presents I will never forget. My sister and I each got a gold necklace while my parents recieved an American flag. I wear mine as I reminder to not only pray for my uncle, but also the other soldiers he's with or meets while fighting for our freedom.

He wrote a note and attached it to the flag:

This flag accompanied me on the long journey of Operation Iraqi Freedom. It was flown over every camp starting with our arrival at Camp Victory in the northern desert of Kuwait, continuing across the berm during the invasion phase of the war, and ending in northern Iraq at Qayaryah West Airfield, forty miles south of Mosul.

Although the flying of the American flag was against official Army policy during the invasion, this emblem served as a source of inspiration to the men and women of Charlie Company 5th Battalion, 159th Aviation Regiment, 101st Division throughout our one year mission.

This flag now serves as a reminder of those days, a reminder that freedom is not free. For those who did not return...

I hope you all have enjoyed this post. I know it was long, but I hope it serves as a reminder to pray for our brave soldiers.

Color Reveal Week 42 {Kendall}

Have you been anxiously awaiting the color reveal? Well here it is...drum roll please...

The color for week forty-two is:

Gold! I think it is appropriate for the fall colors most of us are seeing (or hoping to see) around us. It is feeling like fall here in Oklahoma, it is a cool 60 today. Now if all these green trees would start changing colors! I am ready for the fall colors.

Here is my find for the week. As I told you last week, my sweet grandfather passed away. Last week I went to his house and my uncle had found the movie camera that my grandparents used. He saved it just for me. I was so excited. And even more excited that it was in the original box!

The box is a little more yellow than gold, but the tape holding it together almost matches the color of the crayon.

BIG Burnt Orange Cat! { Sheryl }

Well, I know I had a false start yesterday and really wanted to show a video of my friend feeding the fish at Yenikoy. I couldn't make it work --

On Thursday the American Women of Istanbul met at the Consult General's home. It was a beautiful place with one of the most fantastic views of the Bosporus I have ever seen. It was a lovely morning -- I even won a real pumpkin! After the meeting some friends and I went to a place to have Eggs Benedict. The thought of finding real ham was almost too much! I forgot to take a picture of the dish but you might be interested to know that it wasn't real ham!

While we were at the this place -- we saw the biggest cat I have ever seen. He ended up getting on the sofa with me.

One thing is for sure -- you never know where or what you will find in Istanbul!

Well I was excited about this color with it being Fall and had great intentions of taking some pics of the sights of Fall around town, even had the things and places picked out and got a stinkin headache on Tuesday and it didn't go away until LATE last night. I don't get them often but when I do, I can't function well....but anyway so I saw this hanging in my office this morning and decided it would work! It is my hood from graduation....sorry all you OU fans....yes I had to get my degree from OSU!!!! I would rather that hood be crimson but I had to do what I had to do!!!

Fall is my far my most favorite season! I just love all of the leaves changing colors and anything in between. Every season or holiday, my mom decorates the house. This is the second fall we've had since moving to North Carolina. Hard to believe! Anyway, here's my favorite decoration! There's just something about a wreath that makes me smile. Hello friends! I apologize for missing last week, but thanks to my friends, you probably didn't even notice!

My sweet grandpa that I posted a picture of the week before last passed away on the 30th. It has been a heartbreaking time for our family. He lived a good long life and was happy, but it still hasn't been easy. Anyway, my grandpa donated his body to science and did not want us to have a funeral. He wanted us to have a party. So, we did. And when we have a party, we do it right. My best friend designed our beautiful floral arrangements and our table cloths just happened to be burnt orange!

Week 41 Color Reveal

I found this week's color in some hair feathers I found at a little boutique store during my weekend away with an old high school friend! We took a little trip over to Arkansas and did a little antique shopping, lots of backwoods driving to enjoy the beautiful fall colors and stayed at cool refurbished 1920s hotel! It was nice to have some mommy time and wake up with out little feet in my back or on my face and to have conversations that didn't revolve around toys, but it was also nice to come home and be missed!

This last week I went to the Island of Patmos with a girlfriend. We were only there one day but it was a great day! Stress free and very relaxing! After sight seeing and laying around the pool all afternoon, we went for a photo walk along the beach. With cameras in hand we strolled around a cove on the South end of the island. Brick Red { Natalie }

Hello everyone!

This was a very fun week for my family! Sunday we went and rode in the SkyWheel in Myrtle Beach. It's like a ferris wheel but HUGE! The SkyWheel gondalas were completely enclosed and had heaters and air conditioning in it. Pretty cool! It was also twenty stories high. My dad and little sister hate heights, I mean HATE them! But mom really wanted all of us to ride in it so they did. I thought the look on their faces were priceless. Dad kept saying " Don't move, if this thing falls we're in big trouble!" Mom and I got a kick out of it!

This next shot is Tuesday's dinner. I captured this shot while mom was cooking. I did put the camera down for a bit to help, but for the record, I do not enjoy cooking. I would wrather shoot.

One time while we were in Colorado, My grams ( mom's grandma ) Gave us ladies each some king of jewelry of hers. I LOVE roses and noticed this necklace. " I hope you love it as much as I do." She said. This past August my Grams went to heaven. It was really hard on us especially since she lived with us in Oklahoma when the harsh winters of Colorado came and that gave us the time to really bond with her. While mom was pregnant with me she was trying to figure out a name. My Grams used to live on Natalie Street. Mom instantly loved the name and it stuck. She also gave me the middle name, Elizabeth just like my Gram's middle name. I've always liked that I was named after her. When I was little she would help me learn my spelling words and really liked it when I drew pictures for her. She always told me how proud I made her and how special I was because God made me that way. That's something I will always cherish.

When I pulled the Brick Red crayon from my box and colored with it, I have to admit, it didn't look very "bricky" to me. I think it should be renamed "Juicy Apple" because that's where I found my color this week. In our backyard on our very own apple tree. I love Autumn, who's with me?

I'm still loving this project every week as much (if not more) as I did the very first week.

I have decided that this color is not very popular in nature or anywhere else for that matter. This week I was so fortunate to go to the Island of Patmos, Greece. My friend Joy left last Monday and arrived there Tuesday night. It is no easy task to go to Patmos but I can say it is quite the adventure!

This a shot of the Island of Agathonissi, Greece. I really couldn't see much more that twice the amount of buildings in this picture on the whole Island. We had several stops that were a little perplexing as to the amount of people that inhabit them. I am just sure that our color this week is in this photograph.

Good afternoon!

This is my sister's friend Hannah. Some of you might remember from a previous post, I took her senior pictures while I was in Oklahoma. Anytime I have a senior shoot I always come up with something creative. She loves butterflies so this is what I came up with.

On the 24th, my friend's mom got married. I took my camera just for the fun of it and ended up taking pictures at the reception. I had a blast! Instead of having a traditional wedding cake, they had cupcakes. Red velvet, Chocolate Mocha, and Vanilla coconut. The Chocolate Mocha was my favorite! I thought the blue icing was a pretty close match!

Well this is another one of those colors that looks totally different in the wrapper than on paper! But I think I captured it (at least I hope!) I spent last weekend in Denver celebrating my 2 year old grandson's birthday and I really wanted to get some good shots of him....WOW I forgot how 2 year old boys don't like to sit still! So here are a few shots...

This is the chair we took for him to sit in.....HAHA, he put his stuff there but not him!!!

OK I'll sit beside it!!! The top one is SOOC, but I like the editing on the second one!

OK I'll sit in it if I can have Papa's Phone!

Then the fun day at riding Thomas the train!!!

OK So this one has not even a bit of periwinkle....I just think it is stinkin' cute and shows how much fun a 2 year old can have riding a train!!! We should all be this excited about the little things in life!

OK sorry to bore you with all the pics but I didn't post last week so you got double this week and I am still on a grandson high!!!

We had ice cream earlier and my new favorite is Birthday Cake. I always wish it wasn't blue, but today, it was the perfect color!

Color Reveal Week 39

Another week another color! I've been keeping the past colors in a separate location from the unused ones still in the box so my box is looking kind of sad which only means we are truckin' on towards the end...but we still have a little ways to go. Like I said in the link up post this week and weekend have been super crazy and I barely had time to take pics for this week's color reveal much less look for the color, so I didn't. I scribbled the color on a piece of paper and handed it to my youngest boy and asked if he would help mommy match her color while I she gave his brother a bath, kill two birds with one stone...clean one and keep the other occupied. So I can't take credit for my finds this week, but they are a pretty good match, someone has good eyes and did it all on his own with any help and he is only 2 1/2 (proud mommy moment here)!

Of course once big brother was done taking a bath he had to try his hand at matching mommy's color and since it was little brothers turn in the tub I had no objections...here is what he found!

Hello!
Earlier this week mom, Ally, and I made a Starbucks run for some caffine therapy. Mom ordered a Venti Black Tea shaken with four Splendas. Yes, she is particular :) When it was delivered, I realized it was Bittersweet! She has an iphone which I was able to borrow in order to capture this picture. Her favorite app is called Instagram which I used to edit this photo.I think it is the perfect Bittersweet! Be sure to link up your pictures! I can't wait to see you finds!!

Well, I'm back after getting caught up in my birthday last week and missing my post!! I have been extremely busy with senior pics and wedding pics and wedding videos! I had the privilege to photograph my very best friend from high school's senior daughter and we had an amazing time! I think these pics have a touch of bittersweet in them....not just in color but also in emotion as she embarks on her final year of high school!

Hello all my colorful friends! I think I have a good match this week, with color and meaning!

This weekend I took my two boys, my dad, and my grandpa to the Tulsa Air and Space Museum. It's not my favorite place, probably since I'm a girl, but the boys love it.

The next picture didn't have the color but it is the feeling that is bittersweet for me. My dad was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in January. He is in remission from that, but we found out last week that a spot he had removed from his thyroid a few weeks ago is malignant. This has been a rough year emotionally for my family. My grandpa currently has cancer all over his body and is suffering from "I only believe what I want to" syndrome. I guess the denial helps him deal with things, but it sure makes it hard on everyone else.

While we were at the museum, they had some veterans there talking about a trip that is available for veterans to fly to Washington DC. My grandpa was so excited, which doesn't happen real often, but when the lady said they would take a trip next year, I had to walk away, crying, because chances are, he won't make it until next year. He, with his positive outlook, wants me to fill out the application so he can go on the trip! So, I love this picture, because these two men mean more to me than almost anything. And this trip to the museum was very bittersweet.

Week 38, Color Reveal

This week's color has quite a fitting name, the word bittersweet convey's two different emotions at once so it makes since that the crayon wearing this name would give you two totally different colors. When you see this crayon it appears brown but when you color with it comes off burnt orange...As I typically do I went with how it colors on paper and when I saw that it colored burnt orange I knew just want to use for my find! I have these two little Frankoma birds I picked up at the antique store that were originally meant as a gift, but while they perched on top of my curio cabinet waiting for their intended home, they kind of grew on me!

I didn't take this photo but I thought it fit well with the color! I can't tell you how many times Josh and I have been to Branson.

This is a silly photo of my husband! He is usually a very serious, let's get the job done, kind of guy. There are times when he comes out of that and is just plain funny! I also love that he doesn't read this blog sooo he will never know about this photo!!
