The weather turned warmer this week and the sun has finally graced us. Wednesday we had our American Woman of Istanbul game day by the Bosphorus at Yenikoy, but we just couldn’t seem to get in gear to play games. We kept finding ourselves outside enjoying the sun and slightly chilly breeze. While catching up with each other and drinking our tea we also watch the different kind of boats that cross the channel. I cannot wait for spring to start budding here in Istanbul, it is absolutely breathe taking

Scarlet (jeana)
Well, I have to admit I pulled this one from a couple of months ago. I had the opportunity to make a grandson run to Denver and so that is where I am! And since all I have on my mind is him, I decided to post this one with his scarlet red wagon.
Thought his hat sorta matched it too but really just wanted to show off his cuteness!!
Keep your links coming, it is a joy to look at how everyone "sees" color differently.

Scarlet {Kendall}
I was excited when I heard scarlet was an upcoming color. Maybe I was more excited because I love the name Scarlet. My favorite movie is Gone with the Wind and if I were to have a daughter, I would have considered Scarlet as a top runner in the “Name the Baby” contest. Not that anyone in my family would have agreed to it, but it is still a favorite.
Anyway....this past weekend, I went to the Dallas Arboretum and was able to see the first flowers of spring! It was a cool place and I imagine it will be even more beautiful in the coming weeks as everything starts to bloom. I got some great shots of flowers, mostly tulips. There were all colors, but these looked pretty darn close to our scarlet. We colored on a piece of paper and took it with us for comparison!
(I would also like to say that this is the first time I have really taken photographs of flowers so it was an all new experience. This challenge has taken me out of the box and I love it! I hope it is getting you to step out of your box too.)
I am thoroughly enjoying every single one of your plum posts! It is getting harder and harder to pick a favorite each week!

Week 11 Color Reveal {Brooke}
When my hubby selected this week's color I was excited, however when the week finally arrived and I had to actually go find the color I thought I would never find it! I almost gave up and started to scour my archives for a shot when one night my boys begged me to play a game with them and since I was tired of looking at my screen editing through my seemingly unending list of completed photo sessions, I decided it was time for a break and surrendered to their pleas. It wasn't until after about the third round of "Don't Break the Ice", that I realized the little guy that sits on the ice (which by the way is not the same guys who sat on the ice when I played the game as a kid) was the color I was hunting!
So, I grabbed my camera started capturing our game! I quickly had to dig out the flash since the little hands attempting the break the ice moved way too fast for my camera to capture them in such low light. Not to mention, that little guy didn't spend much time on top of the ice since my boys felt the object of the game was to break the ice as fast as they could.
Well, I had hopes of capturing something grand and striking with such a bold color as my muse, however I almost resorted to dusting off an oldie until I decided to slow down and enjoy my everyday and the color found me! One of the reason's I started this project in the first place was to slow down and take notice of the world around me through color and that world includes theses moments of laughter in my every day.
So although I hope some of you get amazing striking captures of this bold color, my added challenge to you, especially those who need to slow down and take a break from work, is to find the bold color in something more monotonous and every day. Too often we forget those ordinary days are what make life great!
Good luck hunting this week's color...the bold orangey red SCARLET
Happy color hunting,
Brooke
p.s. I am going to try something a little different with our color prompt pictures with our next set of four colors (starting with week 13), so hopefully it works!
