Yellow Orange {Shana}

This was yet another Saturday that I let time get away from me. Last night I was at a 10 year old girls birthday slumber party. Her mom had a scavenger hunt, tie dying shirts, crafts and other fun stuff. I had such a great time helping and being apart of it. I also discovered that I am not as resilient as I used to be and this lady needs her beauty sleep!

One of my favorite things is watching thunderstorms, especially sleeping during them.

I love the haziness of this photo - so mystic.

This photo was from a sunset a few days before the previous storm rolled in.

I hope you all have a safe and wonderful Memorial weekend!!

Yellow Orange { Natalie }

Okay not having Internet drives me crazy! But having a Java Dave's just down the road is awesome! Most of you know Oklahoma is considered Tornado Alley. When we heard there were severe storms on the way we jumped into the car ( not literally ) and headed for my Nana's house because again no Internet and no TV. This is what the sky looked like. I was in awe and spent quite a bit outside watching the storm clouds form. Well I hope all of you have a great rest of the week. I'm off to go finish my yummy coffee :)

Yellow Orange { Sheryl }

I have a friend here visiting from the United States and we went on  Bosporus Cruise on Tuesday.
The port area where these boats launch from are near the Spice Bazaar.  (or Egyptian Bazaar)
In the area of the city you really can find just about anything.  The train stop is called Eminunu
and once you go under the street -- you are being asked to spend your money!

 The above is one of many booths that have spices out that can purchased by the scoop or kilo.
Some of the vendors have these spices in big sacks that are just rolled down from the top.  You can
imagine the aroma that is present here.

 These are hand made soaps.  I have to assume they are made here but I can't be sure.  My
favorite soap that I can get here is made from Olive Oil.  Yes it is green and I can actually buy
it in a pump.  The bar soaps are wonderful because they really do keep the aroma in the room.

 As I am writing this, I am munching on some dried apricots that Joan bought at the Ulus Bazaar
 today.  I laughed at her when she was holding a kilo (2 lbs) and asking if she should buy more.
This is a photo of candies made from dried apricots, dried figs and walnuts.  I am sure you could
find pistachio nuts in there too!  As you can see it seems a little pricey.  The conversion is
$16.00 a pound.  We are in a major tourist area and things do get out of hand!

Now this guys was spotted on our way to cooking class -- no he was not on the menu!  I couldn't resist because as you can see -- He has it all!

That adventures continue -- don't forget to link up your Asparagus!

Thanks for stopping by -- Love, Love!

Yellow Orange {Kendall}

Hello!  It has been a long week for me since my post last week!  I kept feeling like I was forgetting to post, but it wasn't my day yet!

I had no idea where I was going to find my yellow orange, until it appeared last night!  I am in Oklahoma and the weather has been wild.  It's really not so unusual, but still not fun.  The sky looked AMAZING last night with so many different colors.  And it just so happened that a little yellow orange showed up!

I hope none of you are dealing with severe weather.  My heart is heavy for all the families who have lost loved ones and their homes.  If you haven't done so already, I hope you will take a moment and pray for them.

Have fantastic week!
Kendall

Linkup and Color Reveal Rolled up in One {i.e. I'm still on vacation}

Hey P64ers! Just a quick post from steamy San Antonio! I have been down here doing some family vacation time and getting a wonderful opportunity to meet with a talented bunch of ladies through the I Heart Faces Dream Big San Antonio Workshop! It has been so much fun and the best experience! Even if I have sweat through all of close I packed, yay for free washing machines at the resort we are staying at! So, with that said I better get on with the post as I need to get some things together and packed as we hit the road to home bright and early in the morning!

Ok, since I will be traveling tomorrow I thought I'd go ahead and share the new color now before I move on to the link up for asparagus. The color, yellow orange. My pic, one of the many directional signs found down by the Riverwalk. I thought the middle bunch were there perfect match! Though I'd pair them with a pic of the actual river too!

Guess you can see I didn't have time to capture the crayon itself, to be honest, I almost forgot to have my husband select the next weeks color until we were on our way out the door to start our road trip, so I got an approximate color from wikipedia, you should check it out (here)! It gives a history and a list of hex and RGB codes so you can find a pretty darn close match in a photoshop or paint program. It always gives the dates each color was introduced or discontinued. Pretty interesting!

Oh, one more thing before we move on to see your asparagus finds, our weekly favorite from the cerulean linkup! This week's favorite belongs to Carrie!

Congrats to Carrie! Make sure you all head on over and give some love! Oh and I'll be doing a post sometime this week to share a little about my trip and photography workshop experience, so make sure you check out my personal blog for the details and pictures!

Alright it's time for a link up! You've seen our asparagus now let's see yours! As always no fancy camera required and flickr linkups are welcome. Please link back to Project 64!
