Indigo {Shana}

This week we have been on vacation in Steamboat, CO. It has been a week full of skiing, eating, games and shopping. We have been coming here for the past 5 years and can't seem to get enough of this family atmosphere. 

The people around me that know about our little project love to help me find the subject for the week. This little bowl was found by my sister in law and it turned out perfect.

Indigo -- Turkish Pottery {Sheryl}

Well, I started off the day late!  Don't ya just love it when that happens?  Rushing out the door knowing I hadn't posted my submission for today.   I had every intention of being home before any of you got up (which is usually pretty easy for me) however, life got in the way!

While we were in the area of Izmir we were able to see how such pottery was made.  The pottery itself is made free hand on a wheel.  After the piece is fired the design is hand drawn by a master artist.  The color is added by an apprentice.  Then glazed and fired again.  The designs all have different meanings of hospitality.  I found this piece at the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul.

Indigo { Natalie }

When I started thinking about what to "shoot" i started going through my MANY bracelets, earrings, and necklaces and found this bangle. It was given to me by my fellow colorer Shana McGuire all the way from Turkey. It made me very happy to have something to remind me of her. I hope you all have fun looking for INDIGO! GOOD LUCK!
