Melon ( Sheryl )

Melon

Well, yes this has been a very hard color!  I can't believe there is so little of it around me.  I do hate to be the third one to do jewelry but I couldn't find anything else.  I have waited as long as I can to post.
 I have been on a stretchy bracelet kick since I saw that movie "Larry Crowne" -- the character played by Julia Roberts wore cute stretchy bracelets and I have been buying them ever since.  I have created quite a collection but these were my first.  3 Turkish Lira a piece, what a deal!
 As I was trying to find something to shoot, I colored and folded and went through all my stuff.  I found this box that came with Rose Candy (I love packaging) so I used it thinking maybe the pink on the front would read Melon -- it didn't.
 The chip is really pretty exact to the colored piece that I did.  At least on my monitor.
Kendall inspired me to just do some playing.  I really can't remember when I just sat and played in Photoshop.  I used some actions from Pioneer Woman and a Texture from Jerry Jenkins of Shadowhouse Creations.  It's good to be back in Istanbul -- visits home are few and far between -- See you soon . . .

Thanks for stopping by -- Sheryl

Melon { Natalie }

Hey everyone! Hope you are all having a fantastic week! My picture is of some coffee that came all the way from Estes Park, Colorado. My sister's friend went to Estes Park, Colorado on vacation a few months ago. She knew how much Ally LOVES coffee, so she brought her some back. This is Pumpkin Pie Mocha. I'm sure it tastes very good!

Well Irene came and went in North Carolina, but we fled to Oklahoma. I was actually getting ready to leave last week when I posted. She was a pretty strong storm, but thankfully our area didn't get hit as hard as they thought it would. As for my friends, everyone is alright. Some lost power and a few tree limbs but that was it! Now I'm off to spend some quality time with some friends. Thank you for you prayers!!

Melon - Jeana

Well, I was getting ready to stamp FAIL on the word melon and post it! I had honestly looked harder for melon than anything I had ever looked for before. I loved what Kendall & Brooke did and I had being a copy cat but decided to go look at my grandmothers and mothers jewelry box I inherited a few years ago and low and behold I found melon. That must have been a popular color for jewelry in the day!
So here is my find and since these were my mothers it is only fitting that I give tribute to her because it was three years ago today that she left this earth to join our Lord in heaven.  I know she is singing with the angels and I know I will join her someday....but until that day I have to say I miss you so much Mom, you taught me things about life that I never thought I would need but have since used alot! To those that knew her, you were blessed. I love you Mom!

Melon {Kendall}

Hello friends!  Melon was an elusive color until I looked up in my dressing room above my vanity and saw this little shoe.

I hope melon isn't elusive for you and that you have fun finding it.  I think I had more fun editing this one because I added the texture.  I LOVE textures and haven't been using them much lately because I have been doing so many portraits of people!  Check out some of my latest work on my Facebook Fan Page. Doesn't that sound so much more fancy instead of just saying 'my Facebook'?  Lol!

Have a great week!

Color Reveal Week 35

Sorry for getting this up a late! My hubby's new schedule keeps throwing me off and Tuesday's seem like Monday's to me. Well when my hubby took this color out of the box I knew exactly what I wanted to capture for it's match! I inherited a several pieces of jewelry from my great grandma when she passed, nothing fancy, most of it is costume jewelry, but it was hers and it was special to her. You can tell by the little notes placed in the original boxes with each piece of jewelry. The piece I chose is a brooch and earring set that was a Mother's Day gift from her son, my papa, given to her the year of 1955, I thought it was a great match to this week's color! I like how the brooch is a pretty close match to the actual wax crayon and the earrings match the color on the paper. It's nice to be able to get her jewelry out of it's box and share them with you all as they most likely will keep their  place in the back of my dresser drawer inside their original box with that little note.
