Blue Violet {Shana}

I just love storms, don't you? Unfortuanlty we haven't had any in a few months. So, this photo was in the archives but I just love everything about it!

I also had a really neat cloud picture but blogger can't seem to get it uploaded.
Josh and I finally bought a house! We hope to be closing at the end of this month, it's getting busy around here. Hope to share photos and our journey moving in. Have a great weekend!

Blue-Violet II ( Sheryl )

Blue- Violet

Well, I hate it when I wait until the day my post is due.  I have had a super hard time with this color (since I used my new camera bag out of order, sorry!)  So, when I got dressed this morning I saw this dress which definitely has this color in it . . .
Since I didn't want to take a picture of the dress or of just the fabric, I decided to do my first self-portrait EVER!   I wanted it to look like a snapshot taken spontaneously by someone else.
I had forgotten about this technique for making color splashes in a black and white photo -- Actually, it was the first thing I just sat down and learned.  (I have posted how to do this at my blog http://thealteredpassport.blogspot.com/)  I also had to use a few tricks to get these shots --

 This is a nifty little tool I ordered from photojojo.com -- I had waited until later in the day to take my pictures and the clouds had come it.  So, I needed extra light.  I slipped this little jewel onto my camera and shot away.
However, I didn't have enough of a reflection because I was shooting in portrait orientation.  My flash was on the side of my camera hitting this gray wall and I wasn't getting the effect I needed.  I proceeded to tape a kitchen towel to the wall and it worked.

So, try taking a self-portrait (not easy) and do some creative editing (easy).

Thanks for stopping by -- Love, Love Sheryl

Blue-Violet

Tuesday I had the greatest day ever! I got to take my little sister's senior pictures. I can't believe she's graduating! It seem like yesterday we were fighting over the small stuff like who got to play with the Barbie Jeep and who got to be the princess. Now we fight over the bigger things like who gets to drive the car that day and who gets to have the bathroom to get ready. But We still love each other :) Ally is in love with Converse, in case I haven't mentioned that before. Her friend Hannah went with us and I took some pictures of her as well. Hannah is on the left and Ally, the right.

I hope you all have a great week!

Blue Violet - Jeana

I think finding these colors is getting harder! It seems these last few just have NOT been my colors! Austin can ya pick better next time????
Anyway I did take these at my Great-Nieces 1st birthday party! The hat didn't match her pretty dress but it was a present and her mom put it on her! She is cute enough to pull it off!!

Happy Hunting and enjoy the GREAT weather...that is IF you are having the great weather we are.

Blue violet {Kendall}

Hi friends!  I didn't spend much time looking for Blue Violet either.  And my four year old actually helped me search this week.  I love how my kids get involved too!  My older son will see something cool and ask what my color is.  He's so smart!  He's also become very discerning...he knows big words like pixelated.  Makes me proud!

Here is the first blue-violet Cole picked out.  It's a picture of my husband and I at my senior prom in 1997.  I was almost embarrassed to post it because of the bad cutting job I did on the picture!  But hey, I was 17!

My next photo is something I found while going into my pantry.  It's almost fall!

Can't wait to see all of your Blue Violet posts!

Color Reveal Week 36

I'll be honest, I didn't really search for this color this week...the first part of the week I was SO sick and slept most of Tuesday then we had some unexpected personal family issues that required my hubby and I's attention. So I was left to search my archives, but when I opened up pictures I happened to take today of the boys enjoying the BEAUTIFUL (not 100 degree) weather I noticed the big wheel they were riding around was a close match to this week's color!

So it's slightly lighter than the blue violet colored on the paper, but it was as close as I got without resorting to the archived photos! Hope your week goes well!

Keeping it short and sweet today (since I almost forgot it was Sunday, I know I'm getting REAL bad, but hey it's labor day weekend right?) so we'll start with our weekly favorite from the BLUE link up!

Love how the blue contrast with the subject in Karen's blue entry!
