Cerulean {Shana}

 It has been fun being home, we have been running around like crazy. I haven't gotten to see everyone that I would like to see just yet, but I have to keep telling myself I am here longer then a month! As I read my mom's post (Sheryl) this morning, it really got me missing Istanbul and all it has to offer. So my post today will be all about my Turkish Pottery.
This is a trivet from my favorite pottery place. I actually got this piece for free and I didn't spend a dime that day!

This bowl was given to me as a going away present from some incredible ladies! Everytime I look at it I remember each and everyone of them and what they mean to me.

I had to throw in my cup of coffee this moring. It is not quite the color but I loved the steam. This piece is actually one of two that I gave my mother-in-law for Christmas. We are staying with them until we find a house of our own.

Oh I thought of a random fact about myself and thought I would share.
I love junk!! I could spend all day digging through a heap pile just to find that one treasure. I can say that I come by this honestly.

What is one random fact about you?

I am loving your submissions. I am serious when I say that you all are incredible and make it so hard on us to pick a winner. Keep up the good work.

Cerulean Blue - Everywhere and NO Where! { Sheryl }

Well, this color is around me everywhere!  It is the color for the government and traffic signage.
 This sign below is one of many "suggestions" -- Most of the streets are designated one
way -- However, you have to be very careful, you can't assume anything!  I have come very near
 death thinking that I had checked the appropriate direction of oncoming traffic.  The scooters have
 free reign even driving between lanes on the highway.

The picture below is a typical street sign.  You ought to hear our GPS say some of these
 names -- it's so funny!  The name in bottom Cerulean blue part is that region of the city.

Below is one of the new busses that constitutes a remarkable systems for moving people
 in this huge city.  These busses go 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  We use an
 Akbil (auk-beel) filled with lira to gain access.  Behind this buss is the
 "Yeni Camii" (New Mosque) build in the 16th century.  I am the area of
 Eminunu which is home to the spice bazaar and other really interesting shopping.

Please let me know if you would like to see anything in particular.  I would love
to answer any questions that you might have -- I have grown to love this city and the
people who live in it.  The history is amazing and so much fun to learn.  We will
be traveling to the "Seven Churches of Revelation" next week.

Be sure and link up -- Thanks for stopping by -- Gule Gule!

Good Evening Fellow Photogs!!! (Jeana)

Well......all the hoopla about my graduation is over....and I just took my kids and grandson to the airport (Yes, at 10:30 PM...they kept getting delayed because of the bad weather...poor lil guy is gonna be tired tomorrow!). So as always it is bitter sweet.....I love them so much and will miss them but I know I have to get my life back to "normal".....God didn't intend for us to all live in one house, I don't think!!! So tomorrow will begin the clean up and the beginning of my "new" future as a non-student! I have been going to school for what seems forever! Six years full time and prior to that I had taken classes on a part time basis. Yes, I have so many college hours that I have to get permission to take more, every time I try to sign up!!!!
Pray that I can adjust to the "real" world!!!
Anyway as I sat on the deck today watching Jonathan play (and taking pictures of course)  for what I knew would be the last time I would see him for a couple of months I saw his cup sitting on the deck rail and thought it was a fairly good match for this weeks color.

Amazing how different the colors look on the computer!!
Same cup, different camera settings!

This was our make shift water slide and thought it was a cool picture of the water splashing on the step

This is nothing more than just a picture of my cutie pie grandson!

Well happy shooting to you all this week....and say a prayer for me if you think about it!!!
Jeana

Hi. I'm Kendall, and I am...

Really, extremely, crazily busy!  I am currently in my last week at work.  Shutting down a business is a lot of things, but exhausting really fits best.  Physically and emotionally! Say a little prayer for my sanity and that I can get some rest soon...or at least for a week, because then I have jury duty!

I had to dig in my files to find a color because this is honestly the first time I have done something other than edit sports photos at my computer in a week!  I have been working, going straight to take photos, and then to my son's baseball games.  I was hoping for a rain out tonight just to have the evening off...but my rain dance didn't work.

This is a picture of my sweet baby when he turned four.  I love this kid like crazy.  And his big brother too.  They make my life a lot more interesting!

I know I said I would do random facts this week, but it is currently 1:39am and I need to go to bed so I can get up in 5 hours!  Next week will be better, I promise!

I hope you all have a fabulous week...and keep posting those Tumbleweed entries.

Week 19 Color Reveal {Brooke}

Well, I'm not going to lie...I spent most of my day hunting for next week's color, haha! I guess I thought I'd just skip ahead a week and just leave week 19 in the dust! So, I guess my finds today will just have to wait until next week, but for now I managed to find a  few photos that I took a few weeks ago that worked for THIS week's color!

The first one was taken a few weeks ago during a string of thunderstorms, tornado warnings and hail storms spread out though the week. This particular cloud was actually rotating above my parents house during a tornado watch in our area, luckily though nothing came from this storm and we were good for that day. However the next few weeks have left our home town extremely flooded and even left us a few days without water. Which I find ironic that our ponds, rivers, streams and creeks are overflowing with water but, yet we had none.

This next one is my handsome little man, my youngest of two. He is modeling a one of a kind creation by his Nana, my mother-in-law. She is so good with some thread/yarn and crochet needle, she enjoys doing it and I enjoy getting these lovely creations to use for my props! She says it relaxes her and I have literally seen her crocheting away with her eyes closed and then whip out a beautiful blanket.

Well, I hope you all are having a great week and I wish you well on your hunt for cerulean!

Winner and Tumbleweed link up!

Our week has been so crazy I totally forgot to post the winner for weeks 13-16 on Thursday!  I was busy planning and cleaning up for a house full of people this weekend and didn't even remember until Saturday morning when we were on our way to volunteer our help for a walk hosted by the Bridges Foundation. Then we were off to my husbands graduation where  he walked with Summa Cum Laude honor {had to throw that in there since I am so proud of him}! Next the festivities began! A house full of people, 10 boxes of pizza, a sleep over, pancakes for breakfast, cards and gifts from my boys, flea market shopping, homemade buffet style Mexican lunch, a movie and then goodbyes...now a free moment to add some color into the schedule!

It was a pretty close run for the winner this round, with four wonderful photos I know why! Weeks 13-16 were hosted by Cat at No Wooden Spoons and her Etsy shop!

The winner of weeks 13-16,  is Becky at My Daily Journey!

Congrats Becky! Contact Brooke at martin4_photography{at}yahoo{dot}com to claim your prize!

We also have a weekly favorite to announce as well! I think we all might have been a little busy this week as we didn't have near as many link ups as we normally do, but I hope that means you all had a good week, I also hope all you mom's out there had a beautiful and blessed Mother's Day! The weekly favorite from the week 17 red violet entries comes from Allie of Allie Photography! So beautiful and delicate, a great entry, congrats!

Now its time to share your lovely tumbleweed finds! I can't wait to see what you all come up with!
