White!! (Jeana)

Well, I guess Austin can stay around a bit longer, White wasn't as bad as some of them in the past few weeks!!!

When I glanced around at the many white things I have, I didn't realize I had that many white things!! Unlike Kendall, all my dirty paw children have grown and gone, much too soon I might add! BUT.....I have dirty grimy little grandchildren here now...well I only have one at the time but I anticipate many more!! So I just had to share my special gift from him at 3 months old....

All you mommies with things that are no longer white because of precious dirty hands, remember all too soon these little hands are grown up big hands! And remember....
"A Mother holds her children's hands a little while, but holds their hearts forever!"

And speaking of children growing up......I didn't take these pictures this week so I didn't want to submit them as my weekly post, but I have been waiting patiently to show off pics of my newest daughter-in-law!  I took these back in January at my studio and had a wonderful time with her.

Keep your links coming....we are thrilled to have you be apart of our color world!!

Lavender (Jeana)

Last Saturday, my daughter Jamie was the local coordinator at Winter Jam 2011 in Tulsa. For those of you that may not be familiar with Winter Jam it is a yearly Christian concert at the BOK center. It is huge because it is $10 General Admission and there are like 10 bands that perform. So anyway, she got me a press pass and I got to stand right at the stage all night taking pictures....it was LOUD but amazingly fun and I so enjoyed getting to watch Jamie do what she believes she has been called to do!
I got home and was going through my pictures and this one jumped right out at me screaming Lavender! It is slightly darker than it should be but I think there are still glimpses of lavender!

Keep adding your pics and linking up with us....We are so enjoying looking at your pics and hope you enjoy ours as well!

Hmmmmm, Apricot! {Jeana}

Well, this has been an interesting week to say the least...Record snowfall, my son's wedding (finally!), more snow and APRICOT! But I made it through it all...at least I think I did! Not so sure about the apricot thing but as I cleaned my house after the family weekend mess, I looked for apricot things and this is what I came up with!

I used to collect carousel's of all kinds and this one caught my eye as I was thinking about this weeks color. I would never have thought this to be apricot but it was as close a match to the crayon as I could find!!

Happy hunting everyone! Keep your pics coming. We enjoy looking at everyone's "vision" for the weeks color.

Until next Wednesday.......have a blessed week!

Gray!!! Jeana

Well the wedding plans and the snow storm messed my days up and I forgot that yesterday was Wednesday....my day to post! Sorry guys....
Since this is wedding week and Darrin is wearing a gray suit I decided it would be OK to post a pic of his suit so here it is..

Then I found his ring box and it was gray so I added it!

Not REAL exciting pics, but this is where I am at in my life right now!

I did get some good pics of shadows in the snow that I think I will post later....but I am for 1. sick of looking at the snow in real life and 2. even sicker of seeing everyones snow pics! Sorry but when you've seen one snow drift you've seen them all!!!!

Pray this wedding goes off good and that the roads continue to clear, I don't want my daughter-in-law to be stressed and disappointed in it.

Keep posting your pics for us to see, I for one love looking at everyone's creative touch to the colors!

Playing with light {Jeana, Robins Egg Blue}

Well for those of you that know me, you know THE wedding is only 10 days away now and things are getting kinda crazy! I am also a videographer and I am working diligently on the wedding video because my son said "It has to be the BEST video you have ever produced!" (No pressure here!) Anyway, I promise after next week my pictures will be better and a little more interesting! But for this week as I "hunted" for Robin's Egg Blue, I found a box of light sticks and one of them was the color of blue I was looking for and so I decided to play with light. Light always intrigues me and some of time Baffles me, well a lot of the time! So I found my self in the darkest spot in my house (my office closet) seeing what I could do with this light stick and this is what I came up with:

This was a close up of it and I thought interesting because of the way it produced a white in the center and then the color of blue it was out side of that and then the glow was a dark blue....anyone have any reasons why??

Another shot but it retained the blue color on the inside:

This is a little pixelated on the upload but this was at a 1 sec shutter speed and I moved it during the exposure time:

Anyway kinda cool and I will continue my journey into the explanation of light!

Angels Watching Over You {Jeana - Chestnut}

Angels really never had a big meaning in my life, I mean I believe in Angels, I always read about Angels in the Bible.....But a little over two years ago, they took on a whole new meaning to me...that was the night my precious momma, my dear friend and "partner in crime" went to be with the Lord...and became an Angel to me. As a precious friend told me after that night, "Heaven is a little more real today knowing she is there." I am so thankful for the time we spent together, I miss her dearly but I never knew a person who was more ready or who wanted to go to heaven any more than my mom!
As I looked for the color chestnut, I glanced over to my desk where these Angels sit, and I saw the wings and the lantern and I knew that this was what I wanted to photograph.

"They word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" Psalm 110:105

"But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day." Proverbs 4:18

Let your light shine to those around you, you never know who is in darkness and needs it!
Thanks for letting me honor my Mom by letting every one know what a precious lady she was

And A BIG Thank-you to all of you who are joining us an posting pics on your blog. Remember, the link for chestnut will be open Sunday and we are still accepting your pics for Carnation Pink.
Tell your photog friends about us and have them join in on the fun too!
