We Have a Winner!

The votes are in and we have a winner, selected by you,  for the second round of our monthly giveaways! The weekly favorite that topped the poles was our weekly favorite pick for that sneaky lavender!

Congratulations to The Wandering Rotters!!! Don't forget to head on over to the button page and grab the monthly winner button! Also, contact me, Brooke, at martin4_photography{at}yahoo{dot}com and I will get you in contact with this month's giveaway sponsor, Cat at No Wooden Spoons, so that you can claim your gift certificate to her Etsy shop!! Cat has some beautiful pieces in her shop so EVERYONE should head on over and check it out!

So how is the hunt for Plum going? I must say, I am loving you white photos, I think it is my favorite crayon from the box so far! You still have time to link up your white photo so make sure that you do because the weekly favorite from white will be included in next month's giveaway, weeks 9-12,  and it is going to be sponsored by Simply Photography, online photography e-courses by Faith Raider of Simplicity! She teaches amazing photography e-course for a very reasonable fee, I have personally taken one of her classes and really enjoyed it. She has some coming up soon so be sure to check them out!

The catch up day link  is still open, so if you are new and want to go back and show us your interpretations for our past colors feel free to link up your collection there! It is also ok to just join us on whatever color we are on, its not required to start from the beginning, we are happy to have you play along every week, every two weeks or just once, so be sure to spread the word and have fun!!!

If you would like to sponsor a giveaway please contact Brooke, martin4_photography{at}yahoo{dot}com, we will put you on our sponsor list, add your button to the bottom of the page and list you in our list of likes on our facebook page!  Yes, we now have a facebook page, www.facebook.com/project64colors, be sure to check it out, occasionally I start discussions there.

One last thing, a shameless plea for your votes! I have entered a photo over at Color Inc's facebook page, so if  you have time or it tickles your fancy, I would greatly appreciate it if you would LIKE my photo (you must like Color Inc's page first in order to like my photo). Thank you in advance if you help me out! Voting ends 3/14.

Here is the link and the photo I have entered.

Lavender Linkup {week 8}

I hope you all are enjoying our project! For me it has been a very  nice break from the 365 project I attempted last year. Only having one photo a week has given me more time to think about my shot I want for the week and take the time to set it up and above all has been less stressful! Adding a color twist to my weekly photos has been very fun, I love searching for the color and finding ways to creatively photograph it gives an added challenge.

We are two months in, can you believe it? Your photos each week truly do get better, I know each week I tell you it is hard to pick a favorite, but it truly is! Indigo was a tricky color with purple tones hiding in its strong blue color, but it was a fun color, a bold color and you all captured it beautifully. We all had at least four favorites in our list when we ladies voted this week, but there was one entry that was common in most of our list....

We loved Karen's bowl of blueberries! There is indigo all over this picture, dark shades in the blueberries, rich tones on the bowl and all nicely contrasted against the white. Congrats Karen! Don't forget to grab a weekly winner button! Everyone, head on over to Karen's blog and give her some love!

A few notes before we move onto the Lavender link up...Did you know I set up a Facebook page for Project64? I did! Feel free to use the Project 64 Facebook page to share your photos, ask questions, have discussions or just use it as a way of keeping tabs on the latest blog post. Whatever way you choose to use it is up to you, it is there for you and to aid in making Project 64 a creative community.

Also, don't forget we are having a catch up day tomorrow! You will be able to link up a flickr set, a separate blog page or single blog post that contains all your photos from week 1 up to week 8.  Be sure to link up the url that will take us DIRECTLY to your review of colors. Catch up day is not just for those who joined Project 64 late, but for everyone to share a review of their past colors and maybe talk about their journey through the box so far. This linkup is different from the one today...today's link up is for Lavender ONLY. Tomorrow's link up is for sharing you colorful finds starting at the beginning. I hope you all link up your review of colors past, it will be fun so see  them all together in on place! I am equally excited to see all the colorful entries from the newbies and to have them join our journey!

So did you have fun with Lavender? The lavender in our box of crayons is not the lavender many of us think about when the color is mentioned. It has more of a pink tone with purple hints, instead of the pale purple color that comes to mind. Did you try the added challenge and fill the frame with color? I can't wait to see what you came up with!

As always no fancy camera required and Flickr link-ups welcome!When you link up please use the DIRECT LINK/POST containing your photo, if posting multiple pictures designate the one you are submitting and be sure to link back to us!

Lavender {Sheryl}

Yesterday we went to Emminunu(?), it's the area next to and around the spice bazaar.  I am just discovering the treasures that can be found there.  I can't wait to spend some time there when it is not raining!  I did a blog post thealteredpassport.blogspot.com about our day.  I bought some Swarovski Crystals in lavender.  Who ever wins the link for lavender will receive these beautiful beads.  I can't wait to see your posts!

Don't forget to link up your INDIGO photographs.  I sure hope everyone is having as much fun as I am!  I am loving how I have begun to think differently about color and the opportunities for the creativity involved with it -- Thanks for coming by and supporting us.  You are the icing (I love icing) on this project!  I can't wait to see your links!  God bless!  Sheryl

Lavender (Jeana)

Last Saturday, my daughter Jamie was the local coordinator at Winter Jam 2011 in Tulsa. For those of you that may not be familiar with Winter Jam it is a yearly Christian concert at the BOK center. It is huge because it is $10 General Admission and there are like 10 bands that perform. So anyway, she got me a press pass and I got to stand right at the stage all night taking pictures....it was LOUD but amazingly fun and I so enjoyed getting to watch Jamie do what she believes she has been called to do!
I got home and was going through my pictures and this one jumped right out at me screaming Lavender! It is slightly darker than it should be but I think there are still glimpses of lavender!

Keep adding your pics and linking up with us....We are so enjoying looking at your pics and hope you enjoy ours as well!
Jeana

Lavender {Kendall}

You are very sleepy.  Very, very sleepy.  So sleepy that you think today is still Tuesday and I posted on the correct day!  I guess I was very, very sleep yesterday because I thought it was Monday all day.  So I woke up startled when I realized today was Wednesday and I hadn't posted yet!  Ahhhhh!

Here is my lavender.  It used to be my FAVORITE color when I was a little girl so you can imagine the horror when I came home from church camp one year and my room was painted pepto bismol pink!  Ok, that's a story for another time...

Those of you who know me, are not surprised that I would have something like this, that says Queen!  I am the queen.  I was the queen long before I was the queen of my house!  Ask my parents.  Now I am the queen by default because there is no one at home to take my title.  If that were to happen, I am not sure how I would handle being de-throned!

I am L-O-V-I-N-G all of you totally fabulous submissions.  Keep them coming!

Have a great Tuesday Wednesday.

Week 8, Color Reveal {Brooke}

I am loving you Indigo photos they are all looking great and I've noticed that some of you have been playing with angles and different perspectives too! I'm going to keep this post short and sweet, my hubby is off today and the boys and I are going to go hang out with our man!

This week's color is Lavender!

This week I thought it would be fun to focus on filling the frame as much as possible, so if you want an added challenge, give it a try. Here is my take on Lavender...

I found these roses at the grocery store and in real life they are spot on to the crayon and the way it colors on paper, however I think I had my camera set to vivid and it brought out a lot of pink, but you can see the lavender in the lighter parts of the rose.

Happy color hunting!
Brooke
