Cadet Blue {Shana}

I am sure all of us at one time in our childhood had something that we cherished. Mine was a Raggedy Ann doll my mom made when I was very young. She went everywhere with me and even got a few haircuts along the way. I really have never lost my love for Raggedy Ann and hope to use that theme in a nursery one day. So anytime I see Raggedy Ann and Andy anywhere I have to buy them!!

My sweet friend has been on the "look out" for me and she found this precious figurine at our local auction.

I still can't get over this amazing weather we are having!! I hope you all have a chance to enjoy it!

Cadet Blue ( Sheryl )

Cadet Blue

In Istanbul, we attend a small church in the older part of town.   The area is called Taxsim.   The Union Church of Istanbul is a collection of people from every part of the world.  With the kind generosity of Her Majesty Queen Beatrix and the Government of the Netherlands, we meet in the Dutch Chapel at the Consulate in Istanbul.
 At the back of the chapel is a balcony.  Terry and sat here on our first visit to the chapel, on Easter.  It was hot and very tight.  We haven't allowed ourselves to be late enough for that in the future.  There must have been a pipe organ here at some point but it doesn't seem to be present with only a few pipes left behind.
The pulpit of the church is solid wood and really makes an impact upon entering.
 I don't understand the design process behind these windows.  There are two alike in the chapel.  I am sure they are not original.  I did think that our blue was probably represented here --
The chapel has been many things over the years it has stood in Taxsim,  Istanbul.  It is my understanding it was even used as a prison.  It is a privilege and a pleasure to be a part of this church and it's history.  I do have in my possession a book written by our Pastor's wife, Elaine van Rensburg called "In God's House".  I am looking forward to reading it and understanding more about the history of this place, this people!
I am not sure this is a match either --

Thanks for stopping by -- Seni Seviyorum!  Sheryl

Cadet Blue { Natalie }

Hello!
I hope you all are having a good day so far! While looking for Cadet Blue I noticed it was on the shirt I was wearing. This is one of my favorites! For some reason anytime I see something with Rosie the Riveter I want to get it! I think maybe it's because of the "we can do it!" quote. So when I saw this shirt at Mardel I purchased it.

Here's something God showed me. We all have a small piece of Rosie in us. We all want to help it hard times and do anything to make it better. Allthough we can't do it on our own, we CAN DO ANYTHING through Christ! Have a great week everyone!

Cadet Blue - Jeana

OK, We must all be off this week! I thought I was on schedule until I went to bed and remembered my day was yesterday to post! I am going to have to start using the scheduler!  I can't even blame school starting because I have no kids in school anymore and I am not either! I am teaching though starting the 22nd.....I just can't stay away from education!  I hope those of you who have children starting school are having a great time and making memories!
As I was on my cadet blue hunt I saw my picture that Jonathan did for me and noticed the frame was a pretty good match for it.  I just love his little hand prints....he signs all of our cards with his "signature hand print"!

Have a wonderful day whatever you have scheduled or not scheduled.

God Bless,
Jeana

Cadet Blue {Kendall}

Hello P64 friends!  How are you today/tonight/this week?  School starts this week for us so I have been cramming in last minute things.  My oldest son is going to be in 4th grade and my youngest will be in Pre-K.  I am not sure I am ready for my baby to be in school.  I almost cried when I saw his name on his classroom door at Meet the Teacher night.  It made it all too real!

Cadet blue seemed like a weird color to me...as many of the colors do, but my find jumped out at me almost immediately.  I love when that happens!  I got a new 50mm lens today so I had fun playing with it.  I think I love it!

I found this and two other coffee cans in my great-grandmother's attic about ten years ago.  I just knew they were going to be filled with money or something important when they were the only thing in the attic...but alas, they were empty.  I treasure them anyway.  I love the colors!

I hope your Cadet Blue jumps out at you too!

Have a wonderful week.
Kendall

Week 32 Color Reveal {Brooke}

I am sooooo sorry I am late revealing this week's color! I really have not excuse, just forgot yesterday was Monday. Well this week we are on week 32 which means we are halfway through the box of 64 crayons!!! I don't know about you, but I feel pretty proud of myself for sticking with this project to it's halfway mark! However, I almost didn't make it...I searched and searched for this week's color, CADET BLUE is not really blue at all but like a blueish, grayish, purplish shade...I'm still not certain I succeeded in matching this crazy shade of blue, but I came pretty close....

I thought the bulb in  the flash of my antique brownie was a pretty close match, but after taking the picture and after editing it seems to be a little more on the purple side, but in person it's not as vibrant and has more of the blue hue....I tried and I like the photos I took so I guess I'm content with my find! I hope you all find this color easier than I did!

I wanted to remind you all that we are changing the linkups a little....Sunday the linkup for CADET BLUE will open as usual and we will have a weekly favorite for FOREST GREEN . However, on Monday when I reveal week 33's color I will also open up week 33's linky. So this week you will have two link ups and both will remain open until Saturday the 20th. Then Sunday the 21st we will have a weekly favorite for week 32 and week 33 as well as a vote off for weeks 29-32. Then Monday the 22nd will be week 34's color reveal AND link up, this is how we will continue until the end of the box. I know that many of you already have your color and blog post a few days after I reveal the color so I thought this way you can link up as soon as you have the color!

Good luck color hunting!

Forest Green Link Up, Week 31

Can't wait to see your Forest Green finds, but first the weekly favorite from the week 30 raw sienna link up!

This week's featured photo comes from Lisa at Peripheral Perceptions, if you have a chance head on over to her blog and give her some love and read her post too, she has some nice thoughts on this little leaf.

Now let's get to this link up! I am interested to see what you all have found, I know in my nick of the woods, it's so dry and all that was once green is starting to fade to brown, so it will be interesting to see if you found your forest green in nature or somewhere else!

**A few quick reminders: The linkup is open from Sunday to Saturday, you can link up one time with one photo...you may have more than one photo on your blog post, just make sure you designate which one is for project 64...please link back to us by either providing a link or grabbing the code for our button on the button page (found in the tabs above) or in a box at the bottom of the blog. When giving your blog address while linking up make sure you snag the URL that will lead us directly to the blog post, don't just simply put the general address to your blog. Leave some blog love to your fellow bloggers! You are not required to have a fancy camera or be a professional, we are all about having fun, enjoying photography and discovering the world around us with our cameras!
